Hello mga Iskolar ng Bayan! It's time to nominate the 2023-2025 Board of Directors of UPAA of Greater Los Angeles. Details are listed below.

Board of Director Positions

 

All nominations are due by 11:59 pm, Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Board Commitments: Directors will serve a two-year term and can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The term of service is from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2025. Board members must attend the monthly Board meetings and shall support the projects and initiatives. Promote camaraderie, the spirit of giving to our alma mater, and be a positive role model for its members.

Qualifications: Only UPAAGLA Member in good standing* can nominate a candidate(s) and apply for the position providing the required nomination documents. A UPAAGLA Member in good standing can self-nominate. Nominees must be available to serve on the Board in a volunteer capacity for two years. Thus, the nominee must be a Life Member since s/he shall be serving a two-year term of office. The link to the application form is listed below.

  1. Nominees should meet one of the two following criteria:

    1. Served in, at least, one of the UPAAGLA Committees.

    2. Performed in related roles in non-profit organizations.

  2. Nominators must verify with the candidate that she/he fulfills the above basic qualifications, especially ensuring availability and commitment to the organization’s vision and mission.

Candidate Application:

  1. Candidates must complete the online Candidate Application form.

  2. The application shall include the following:

    1. Personal statement— what the candidate will bring to the Board.

    2. Brief Profile (limited to 500 words) and any supplemental information the candidate may wish to provide.

    3. Referral letter from UPAAGLA Board Member and/ or UPAAGLA Member. Self-nominees will need a UPAAGLA Board Member to provide the referral.

    4. Headshot —jpg or png format.

There are ten (10) open positions on the Board of Directors.

Electronic ballots with the approved list of nominees will be sent to all UPAAGLA Members in good standing on April 29, 2023, to fill the vacant positions. 

Nominees will be announced at the end of the Spring Fling event on Saturday, May 20, 2023.

The electronic election ends on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

* UPAAGLA Member in good standing refers to those annual members who paid their annual membership dues. Life Members are automatically members in good standing.
